The PCRC’s overarching goals are to: (1) advance the evidence base underlying, and thus the quality of, palliative care and end-of-life (PCEOL) care; and (2) improve the science of cooperative group research. The PCRC provides expertise and accountability for building research capacity to develop scientifically-based methods and generate persuasive evidence to promote quality of life for patients with advanced, serious and/or potentially life-limiting illnesses, and their caregivers including family members and other loved ones.
There are two grant avenues for conducting research with the PCRC:
Investigators can access some, or all, of the following PCRC resources depending on study design. Clarifying which resources will be utilized is part of the protocol development and PCRC collaboration process, which walks investigators through a variety of ways to collaborate with the PCRC: Scientific Review of a proposed project, requesting a letter of support, and PCRC collaboration with an upcoming grant.
If you have a proposed research idea or activity that would potentially align well with the goals of the PCRC and benefit from PCRC infrastructure and member sites, please submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to the PCRC Scientific Review Committee (SRC) for review and feedback.
