Palliative Care Mentorship Selective - Now Accepting Applications! Due March 6th 2023
This 6-week longitudinal mentoring course seeks to foster a culture of mentoring by supporting mid-level and senior palliative care investigators in further developing their mentoring skills to successfully draw new investigators into palliative care research. Each week, the course will cover mentoring topics including maintaining effective communication, aligning expectations, assessing understanding, addressing equity and inclusion, fostering independence, and promoting professional development. All of these topics will be addressed through the lens of the context of diversity, equity and inclusion and how they can impact mentoring relationships. Instruction will occur over videoconference for one hour per week.
When: 6 Tuesday sessions beginning April 5th, 4 – 5pm Eastern Time.
April 5, April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10, May 17
Classroom Format: Zoom videoconference and weekly reading assignments
Requirements: To benefit fully from this program, participants should commit to attending all six sessions and to reading instructional materials before each session. Participants who attend all six sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion from the PCRC.

Selection Criteria: Applicants must be PCRC members, already serving as a mentor to at least one mentee, and demonstrate a commitment to mentorship. Mentor applicants whose mentees are PCRC members will be given priority.
